The Clark County Health Department reported the county’s fifth coronavirus-related death Tuesday.
COVID-19 was identified as a contributing factor in the death of a 90-year-old female resident at Fountain Circle.
“Our thoughts are with this family during this difficult time,” Public Health Director Becky Kissick said in a press release.
All COVID-related deaths in the county so far have been residents at the nursing home.
On Tuesday, the department also reported one additional case of COVID-19 in the county, a 92-year-old male resident of Fountain Circle. The next day, nine new positive cases were confirmed, all of them residents of the long-term care center, ranging in age from 52 to 93 years old.
Three residents of the nursing home have met the criteria for recovery.
The Health Department is now working 64 active cases of the 122 total positive cases identified in the county. Of the active cases, 53 are residents of Fountain Circle, two are employees of Fountain Circle and the remaining nine represent other community members.
