A fourth resident of Fountain Circle who tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

The resident, a 90-year-old man, was reported to have died Monday, according to the nursing home and the Clark County Health Department.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” Public Health Director Becky Kissick said in an email.

He is also the county’s fourth resident believed to have died from coronavirus-related illness. The others were two 77-year-old women and a 91-year-old man. Three of the four deaths have occurred since last weekend.

In its daily update, the Health Department reported there were three additional cases of COVID-19 in Clark County Monday. One was an adolescent girl, one a 22-year-old man and the other a 73-year-old female resident of Fountain Circle.

According to the news release, three people who had the virus met the criteria for recovery Monday, two of them employees of Fountain Circle.

The Health Department is currently working 44 active cases out of the total of 87 positive cases in the county.

During his 5 p.m. daily briefing Monday, Gov. Andy Beshear said there had been six new deaths from COVID-19 statewide Sunday and Monday, bringing the total for Kentucky to 505.

“That’s six people we’ve lost in the past two days, six too many,” he said. “Let’s remember to keep those green lights on to show compassion to everybody who needs it. … It lets people know they are not alone in a time that is incredibly difficult.”
