Two additional cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Clark County, according to the Clark County Health Department, bringing the local total up to 10.

The newest cases were reported Wednesday, and involve a 54-year-old woman and 58-year-old man.

The Health Department did not say if the cases are related to one another or any of the other cases confirmed locally.

“Health officials are working with the Kentucky Department for Public Health to identify and speak with all those who may have come in close contact with these individuals while contagious,” the Health Department posted to its Facebook page.

According to the state’s coronavirus website, there have been 680 confirmed cases in Kentucky. There have been 20 deaths attributed to the virus.

The other cases in Clark County involve two 49-year-old men, a 27-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman, a 72-year-old man, a 67-year-old man and a 60-year-old man.

Other details about the patients cannot be provided because of medical privacy laws.
