Representatives from community organizations gathered Friday morning at STRIDE on Maryland Avenue to celebrate the end of the Blue Grass Community Foundation’s GoodGiving challenge.

According to BGCF gift planning officer Halee Cunningham, Clark County nonprofits raised more than $215,000 during the challenge. The Clark County Community Foundation matched more than $118,000. Those numbers, combined with anonymous donations bring the total amount raised during the challenge to nearly $450,000.

The average donation amount in Clark County was $263, Cunningham said.

The GoodGiving Challenge included 59 cities in 20 states.

The challenge is an online giving campaign designed to engage the entire community while making charitable giving easy and fun.

This year, more than 120 charities in central and eastern Kentucky took part in the challenge, which raised $1.3 million for nonprofits in 2015.
