ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Lincoln Bush

Lincoln Bush is a senior forward for the George Rogers Clark boys basketball team. Bush has been on a roll recently, picking up a double-double in each of last week’s games, including a 16-point, 18-rebound, 11-block triple-double against 40th District rival Paris Thursday night. Bush is currently ninth in the state in rebounding, pulling down 11.6 boards per game.
QUESTION: What’s your favorite part about playing basketball?
BUSH: Being a part of such a great team and always having a place that feels like family.
Q: Do you have any athletes you try to model your game after?
B: One player I think would be Christian Laettner. The reason being I love his mentality on the court of how he outworks everyone and how he always plays with a chip on his shoulder.
Q: What’s your favorite memory playing basketball?
B: My favorite memory of basketball was playing in the regional tournament last year and getting to have a chance at Rupp Arena.
Q: What team goals did you set before the season?
B: Just to win the district and win the 10th Region.
Q: Did you set any personal goals this season?
B: Just to make myself better along with my teammates and grow as a person on and off the court.
Q: Who was had the most influence on your basketball career?
B: My mom and dad.
