Robert Franklin Hart, Jr., 75, of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Winchester, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his residence in Mt Sterling.

He was born December 4, 1944 to the late Robert Franklin and Sarah Alice Childers Hart, Sr. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, the Fisherman’s Sunday School Class, a retired machinist at Rockwell International and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

He was a graduate of Clark County High School. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from Morehead State University.

For many years he successfully coached youth soccer, baseball and basketball with Montgomery County Parks and Recreation.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Phyllis Raney Hart for almost 55 years. He was the father of Nancy Hart Sprague (Tim) of Lexington, KY, Robert Franklin Hart, III (Cynthia) of Midlothian, VA, and Mary Salchli (Scott) of Wellington, KY. He is also survived by two sisters, Sue Miller (Jim) of Lexington, KY and Pat Sallee (Jim Tom) of Lexington, KY; and one sister in law, Sue Raney (Lisle) of Winchester. Proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Sarah Terry-Markuszewski, Kyle Sprague, Bobby Hart, Kasey Sprague, Jimmy Hart and Ann Claire Hart and adoring great grandfather to Elianna Markuszewski.
