RDC eighth-grade basketball team wins Holiday Hoop Fest

The Robert D. Campbell Jr. High School eighth-grade boys basketball team continued their excellent season by winning their holiday tournament.
The team traveled to Frankfort to compete in the Holiday Hoop Fest at Western Hills High School.
The Cardinals began the Holiday Hoop Fest with wins against North Oldham and Anderson County in pool play, earning them the top-seed of the tournament.
RDC defeated Woodford County by two points in the first round, Frankfort by 10 point in the second round and Bondurant by one point in the semifinals before facing off with Southern Middle School for the championship.
The Cardinals were able to defeat Southern Middle 59-38, bringing the title back to Winchester.
RDC’s next game is today as they travel to Elkhorn for a cross-division game.
The Cardinals will be back at home on Monday when they take on Bourbon County in a division game.
