Hannah Curreri, a seven-year veteran of the George Rogers Clark girls golf team, signed her letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Morehead State University Wednesday afternoon.
Curreri made four-straight state tournaments to end her career as a Cardinal. In her final state tournament, she posted an 81 on the first day, tying her for 23rd place and making the cut for the second day of the tournament.
“My time as a Cardinal was definitely a time of memories, fun, family and just a lot of different values altogether. Being a Cardinal has meant the world to me,” Curreri said. “It’s opened so many doors for me. I’ve met so many people. My teammates, coaches, just everyone has supported me. It’s been a great journey.”
But Curreri’s golf career is far from over. She begins a new journey as an Eagle in the fall and could not be more excited.
“I’m definitely excited for the opportunities I can reach with golf,” Curreri said. “I’ll get to better my game, meet new people, better myself academically, get a good degree and make some more memories.”
Curreri knew that Morehead State would be the perfect place for her to accomplish her goals as soon as she visited the school.
“The feel of the team and the atmosphere made it feel like a second home from the moment I stepped on campus,” Curreri said. “I think the experience will be something I’ll never forget, it just feels perfect.”
