STLP clubs earn spots in state championships

Several STLP Clubs across the district earned a spot in the state championships in April.

According to a news release, STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program) cstate championshipubs at Shearer Elementary School, Baker Intermediate School, Campbell Junior High School and George Rogers Clark High School recently competed at regional STLP competitions in Lexington and Somerset.

All of these groups earned a bid to present at the STLP State Championship competition later this school year.

At regionals, the students presented — and were judged on — technology-based projects they had planned, designed and begun to implement within their school and community, according to the release.

Projects students submitted spanned many categories and topics such as online newscasts, iOS app creation, logo design, robot coding and maneuvering and improving health and wellbeing within Winchester.

The STLP State Championship competition will take place on April 8 at the Lexington Convention Center.
