Marvin J. “Buddy” Poer, 95, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born on February 18, 1924 in Ford, KY, to the late Marvin B. Poer and Kathryn Haney Poer.

He was a retired Public Relations Officer at the Bluegrass Army Depot, former sportswriter for The Winchester Sun and other publications, and Advertising Director.

He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Central Baptist and a United States Army Veteran of WWII.

Mr. Poer was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather that will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Bernadine C. Poer and his son-in-law, Mr. Frederick Davis.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Davis of Barbourville, KY, Marsha (Marcus) Moore and Teri (Michael) Walters, both of Winchester, KY; six grandchildren, Kelly Phipps, Cassandra Baker, Ellen Kenimer, Mason Moore, Mark Moore and Thomas Walters; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Edna Coffman; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Thomas Walters. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marcus Moore, Mark Moore, Mason Moore, Don Baker, Joel Kenimer and Michael Walters.

Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of service.
