Robert William King, 79

Robert William King, 79, husband of Mary Frances Schanding King, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at his home. A native of Clark County, KY, he was born on March 14, 1940 to the late James Russell and Ornia Mae Crowe King.

He was the small business owner of Omco, Inc. for 30 years, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and treasurer for over 30 years. He was also an avid volunteer at the Bluegrass Heritage Museum and member of the Winchester Kiwanis Club, having previously served as vice president in 1967, president in 1968 and lieutenant governor over Kentucky and Tennessee. In 2014 he was awarded for 50 years of perfect attendance.

In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, he is survived by two children, Jeffrey Todd King and Mary Elizabeth (Jeff) Neal; four grandchildren, David King, Spenser King, Justin (Stephanie) Neal and Jessica Neal; one brother, Jimmy (Carolyn) King; and sister-in-law, Betty King; two special ladies that cared and loved for him like their own father, Danielle Todd and Cleona Spencer; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ollie, Vernon and Orville “Gene” King.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church, 32 East Lexington Avenue, Winchester, KY 40391 by Pastors Don Burkhead and Tony Stang.

Family will receive friends from 11:30AM until time of service.
