The Clark County coroner has identified the two victims in a single-vehicle fatal accident that happened Friday night.

Coroner Robert Gayheart said Bobby Gipson Jr., 29, and Kristin Nicole Piersall, 32, died of blunt force trauma after the vehicle they were riding in collided with a telephone pole on Becknerville Road.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. Friday.

Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said speed was a factor in the accident. According to the accident report, the car went off the road, struck an embankment and a fence before it overturned several times. The car stopped after hitting a utility pole.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, and both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

According to Gayheart, Piersall worked at Campbell Junior High School and Gipson was an employee of Winchester Municipal Utilities.
