Grace C. Witt, 74

Grace C. Witt, 74, wife of Charles L. (Chuck) Witt, passed away on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 following a lengthy illness and a marriage of 54 years.

She was born May 30, 1945 to the late William Bradley and Roxie Byrd Chambers, in Hazel Green, KY.  She was a retired registered nurse who career included service at Clark County Hospital, Central Baptist Hospital, Hospice of the Bluegrass and with a private practice physician specializing in Oncology.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been involved in several community organizations including the Democratic Women’s Club, Executive Democratic Board, the League of Women Voters and the Mary Redwine Circle.  She served on the board of the Bluegrass Heritage Museum and was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Her life was filled with her love of gardening, wildlife and birds.

She is survived by her son, Jason, his wife, Lynsey and her grandson Ryan William; brothers, Andrew Bradley Chambers, Willard Lenox Chambers and Ralph Douglas Chambers, and sister Geneva Garner.  She was preceded in death by her sister Zudia Lorraine Baker and brother John William Chambers.

Services, including visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9th at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Farley Stuart presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to The First United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
