A Clark County couple was indicted for criminal abuse Thursday after they allegedly locked their children in their room for long periods of time.

Aaron Allen and Dana Allen, of 101 Buckingham Lane, were each indicted for three counts of first-degree criminal abuse by the Clark County grand jury.

The Allens were arrested July 15 after police received reports that the children, ages 2, 4 and 6, were routinely locked in their rooms. When officers arrived at the home, two of the children were locked in the room with no access to the bathroom or to escape. The door could not be opened from the inside.

Winchester Police detectives said all three children had soiled diapers or underwear, and they had urinated in their room.

The Allens told police they locked the children in the room as a form of punishment.

The grand jury also returned the following indictments Thursday:

— Devon Tays, trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts).

— Phillip Sands, first-degree bail jumping, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Jeffrey S. Bostick, first-degree bail jumping, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Paul A. Shaw, receiving stolen property.

— Christopher Easley and DeJuan Jerrel Sparks, receiving stolen property, second-degree persistent felony offender (Easley).

— Jeffrey H. Thornberry, trafficking in a controlled substance (three counts), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts), third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Alicia Wagner, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

— Christopher L. Wells, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree fleeing or evading police, failure to maintain insurance, driving on a suspended operator’s license, speeding.

— Savannah J. Hall, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Larry D. Fraley, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree fleeing or evading police.

— Alissa Sea Palmer, second-degree possession of a forged instrument (four counts), first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Kaitlan Burgess, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Devin L. Dishman, receiving stolen property – firearm (four counts).

— Aaron Allen and Dana Allen, first-degree criminal abuse (three counts).

— Rose M. Caudill, trafficking in a controlled substance (four counts).

— William Brogli, trafficking in a controlled substance (five counts), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (five counts), convicted felon in possession of a handgun, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Ira Brock Daugherty, first-degree wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper parking, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, second-degree persistent felony offender. 6-14-19
