George Rogers Clark girls soccer wasted no time in their matchup with district foe Paris Monday night, scoring early and often against the Lady Hounds.

GRC’s Delaney Manning got the Lady Cardinals on the board 30 seconds into the match to give the Cards a lead.

Just three minutes later, Allie Bush got in on the scoring action and gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.

Another three minutes later and another Cardinal was on the board, this time it was Shelby Vaughn with the goal and Ciana Araya with the assist.

Not even five minutes later, the Cardinals found the net again, this time Araya scoring from a Vaughn assist.

With goals falling in left and right, Bush was able to score her second goal of the night at the midway point of the first half and the Cardinals had a 5-0 lead with 60 minutes still to play.

Araya got her second goal of the night minutes later, coming from a Julia Pohl assist.

With barely more than 10 minutes to go in the half, Emma Taylor picked up her first goal since Aug. 26.

But the Cards weren’t done in the first half quite yet. Vaughn got another goal before halftime to give GRC an 8-0 lead going into the locker room.

Coming out of the break, the Lady Cardinals kept their foot on the gas.

Araya picked up another goal to give her a hat trick, her first of the season, coming from a Shelby Vaughn assist.

An Allie Bush goal midway through the second half gave the Cardinals a 10-0 lead and ended the game with a mercy rule, the team’s first this season.

The Cardinals are at home tonight against Montgomery County in another 39th District matchup.

The Lady Indians are currently 6-6 on the season, but 1-0 in district play.

The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at the soccer complex.
