The Winchester-Clark County Farmers Market will have its annual Fall Festival Saturday on Depot Street.

Market President Julie Staton said the festival, which will be during the regular market hours from 8 a.m. to noon, will feature pumpkins, a drawing for a themed gift basket and children’s activities.

“It’s just an event for us to kind of close the season,” Staton said. “It’s when all of our fall crops are coming in. We will have pumpkins, fall decor, fall harvest types of crops.”

Staton said she is also trying to secure some live music for Saturday’s event, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

She said there will be about 13 to 17 vendors at the market Saturday, and each will donate an item for the giveaway basket.

Later this month, the market will host its annual Chili Cook-Off during regular market hours Sept. 21.

The weekly market season is also drawing to a close with the last market on Sept. 28.

Staton said to come out this weekend to get fresh summer produce before it is gone and to celebrate the coming of the fall season.

“Come show support for the farmers market, grab some breakfast and lunch, shop and enjoy the atmosphere and the beautiful weather that’s coming this weekend,” Staton said.
