Clark Regional Medical Center announced Sandor Szabo has been named the 2019 second quarter DAISY Award Honoree.
The DAISY (Diseases, Attacking the, Immune, SYstem) Award Foundation was founded 14 years ago by the family of J. Patrick Barnes.
Barnes died at the age of 33 from complications of ITP. His family was completely awestruck by the care and compassion Barnes and they were shown during his eight-week illness that they wanted to thank nurses. Barnes’ wife, Tena, developed the DAISY acronym.
Szabo received one DAISY nomination from a patient commending him on the compassionate care and attention to detail he takes in his work.
Szabo has been with Clark Regional Medical Center since March 2018 and currently works as a float nurse.
“Sandor is a wonderful asset to CRMC and the nursing team,” said Aphreikah DuHaney-West, CEO of Clark Regional Medical Center. “His compassionate care and attention to patients exemplifies the type of employees we are proud to have at the hospital.”
In addition to Szabo, there were 20 other nurses nominated.
Every quarter, CRMC selects another Daisy Award honoree. Nominees are celebrated at the Daisy Award Winner reception at the hospital.
