Boyle blanks Clark softball

KG Chadwell had all the right stuff on Monday for Rebels, allowing zero runs and besting George Rogers Clark by a score of 11-0 at Cardinal Heights in Winchester.
The Rebels secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fifth inning. Rebels big bats were led by Kelsea Hinkle, Hailey Cannon, Chadwell, Maddie Baker and Emily Glasscock, all knocking in runs in the inning.
A single by Courtney Miles in the first inning was a positive for George Rogers Clark.
Chadwell was the winning pitcher for Rebels. She allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 16 and walking zero.
Miles took the loss for George Rogers Clark. She surrendered seven runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven.
The Rebels had nine hits in the game. Cannon and Hinkle all managed multiple hits for Rebels. Hinkle and Cannon each collected two hits to lead Rebels. Rebels didn’t commit a single error in the field. Glasscock had 16 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Miles went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead George Rogers Clark in hits.
Clark 3, Middlesboro 0
The Lady Cards defeated Middlesboro 3-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Miles induced a fly out to finish off the game. Ashley Martin earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for George Rogers Clark. She allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out five. Miles threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Clark got things started in the second inning when Emily Schooler hit a solo homer. Kendall Harrison, Lauren Carpenter, Paige Caudill, Christina Young, Schooler, and Lauren Tyson each collected one hit to lead the Lady Cards.
