Good Friday marked by annual Cross Walk

Clark County Judge-Executive Chris Pace, preaching minister Forrest Hahn of Christview Christian Church and others carried the heavy wooden cross down Main Street Friday.

The churches of Winchester and Clark County joined together Good Friday for the annual cross walk and unity service.

The 2019 Good Friday Cross Walk and Unity Service, which the Winchester-Clark County Association of Churches sponsors, started at Winchester Municipal Utilities and ended at First Christian Church.

The group walked from the parking lot carrying the cross as a remembrance of Jesus carrying the cross through the streets of Jerusalem on the way to His crucifixion.

The walk led participants to the service. During the service, the church collected offerings for the transient ministry program of Clark County Community Services.

Pastor Allan Hutchinson of First Church of God presented the  sermon.

A light lunch followed the service.
