“I want my mom to be able to come and watch me play,” he said.

Boyd said he is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure business is taken care of in the classroom and on the gridiron.

“I want to bring more power and make my team great,” he said. “I’m going to approach my freshman year with hard work and hope to make the varsity team off the bat.”

Boyd said balancing academics and athletics has never been easy but he will continue to find ways to make it work.

“I have always put being a student first and that is what I am going to keep doing,” he said.

An important lesson Boyd learned from a role model has been to keep pushing through adversity.

“I have been taught to always believe in your dreams and never give up.”
