Ben F. Swanner, 92

Ben F. Swanner, 92, widower of Katherine Cruse Swanner, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

He was born March 24, 1926, in Clay City, KY to the late Arthur and Ruth Burgher Swanner.

He was a graduate of Powell County High School and attended the University of Kentucky.

Mr. Swanner was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company.

He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by three children, Ann (Bob) Hampton, Ben Swanner III and Clara S. Sampson; three grandchildren, Rebecca (Duncan McCammish) Swanner Adkins, Ben (Allison) Swanner IV, and Robert Sampson; three great-grandchildren, Liam Adkins, Lily Swanner-McCammish, Katherine Lydia Swanner and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Don Burkhead.

Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ben Swanner IV, Bob Hampton, Jim Cruse, Linville Snowden, Lee Cruse and Charles Coleman Cruse.

Visitation will be 9:30-11:00AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home.
