First Christian Christmas eve service
First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman St., will have a Christmas Eve candlelight and communion service at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Emmaus Road at First UMC
The Emmaus Road Quartet will perform during the Sunday, Dec. 30, service at First United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main St. The service begins at 10:15 a.m.
Services at Emmanuel Episcopal Church
— A Christmas pageant will be presented at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at 2410 W. Lexington Road.
— Christmas eve services will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday with a musical cantata and 5 p.m. Holy Eucharist.
— A services of lessons and carols will be presented at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30.
Events at Trinity UMC
— Trinity United Methodist Church, 307 N. Main St., has Sunday services at 10:30 a.m.
— Trinity United Methodist Church Thrift Store is open every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the Christmas holiday season, the Christmas Store will be open on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and every Saturday morning until Christmas.
— Christmas Eve service, 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at the church, 306 N. Main St. Service will include communion and candlelight. Everyone is invited.
Food pantry at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., will open a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry will be open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.
Services at Salem Church at Pine Grove
The folks of Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, will welcome a special visitor on this Sunday before Christmas as Zechariah tells the story of his wife, Elizabeth, one of “The Women of Christmas.” Sunday worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus begins at 11 a.m. The Christmas eve candlelight communion service begins at 6 p.m., when we’ll hear from Mary and Joseph.
Services at First Presbyterian Church
Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
