Topics such as race relations, homelessness, addiction, sexual assault, domestic violence, and LGTBQ rights are addressed throughout the play. Ben Sollee will be special guest musician. At McAfee’s station, in 1788, Mrs. McAfee said, “Young man, I have just taken seven loaves of bread out of the oven, so take what you want.” Based on this documentation of a bread oven in Kentucky (less than fifty miles away), we now have a bread oven. Lots of research and information about bread has gone into creating a program about 18th century frontier bread making.
— Plant Walk, 10 a.m. at Fort Boonesborough State Park. Locate, identify and discuss plants and their uses. Plants discussed will vary. Look at foraging for culinary, medical or natural dyes use. Free with regular admission to the fort. Wear walking shoes.
