William Starcher

William Starcher, age 83, of Lexington, Kentucky, departed this life on November 1, 2016.
He was born May 21, 1933, in Roane County, WV, to the late William and Alta Starcher. He and his wife Karen married and resided in Munich, Germany, where he served as a Captain and pilot in the US Air Force. Bill was a graduate of Marshall Univ. in Huntington, WV and earned a BS Degree in Engineering. He retired from East Kentucky Power in Winchester, Kentucky, where in his last position he served as VP of Admin. Services.
Bill was a follower of Christ and member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church in Lexington, KY. Bill took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, and brother to his beloved family. Bill treasured spending time with family and in particular, enjoyed their annual beach trips to South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Starcher, three sons, Jeff (Edie) Starcher of Versailles, KY, Scott (Nancy) Starcher of Charlotte, NC, Doug (Nancy) Starcher of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren William Starcher, Oksana Starcher, Andrew Starcher, Allison Starcher and Katherine Starcher; one sister, June Burns of Stollings, WV; one brother Leslie Buell Starcher of Ripley, WV.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Willa Boothe.
The family thanks Dr. Terrance Furlow and Charmaine Pfister, APRN, for the medical care provided.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Rd. in Lexington. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. with Dr. William Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
The family request expressions of sympathy to be made to the Southern Hills United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
