Lewis and Carolyn Abner of Winchester were married Jan. 13, 1968, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Winchester by the Rev. J.R. Jeffries.

On Jan. 14, 2018, during the morning worship services at Allansville Baptist Church, the couple will renew their wedding vows at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at noon in the fellowship hall.

Pastor of the church, the Rev. Ray Coates will perform the ceremony with special music by Allen Duncan and Perri Wilson.

Judy Richardson-Potts will honor the couple by returning and participating as the maid of honor, as well as Kenneth Ray Banks, best man from 1968.

Son Robert L. (Lisa) Abner  and Daniel J. (Shannon) Abner and the Allansville church family will host the event.

The Abners have eight grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Kirsten, Rachel, Jaden, Brandon, Ryder and Ashlyn, whom they adore.

The custom of open church will be observed, as it was in 1968.
