Olive Fouch Lee, 86

Olive Fouch Lee, 86, of Winchester, married for 56 years to loving husband Donald W Lee, passed away peacefully at her home on December 14, 2017. She was born in Morehead, KY on May 6, 1931, to the late Audra and Hilda Moore Fouch. Olive is survived by a daughter, Linda Guest of Washington, PA, a son, Donald W. “Rusty” (Vicki Nunan Lee) of Winchester, and daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Sams of Winchester, one sister, Frankie Calvert of Morehead, KY, 8 grandchildren; Anna Guest-Jelley (Nic), Julia Guest Zeal (Joe), C.J. Puckett, Allan Puckett, Terri Puckett, Evan Sams, Michael Salyers and Patrick Ginter, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Jack VanHook and sister, Eva Adkins. While working several jobs, Olive graduated Morehead High School in three and a half years, and was Salutatorian of her class. She met Don in Morehead, who worked for Tennessee Gas Transmission. After living in 15 states in 12 years with her husband, they moved to Winchester. After rearing a family, Olive at age 42, went back to college at EKU and earned her RN degree. She worked at the Guerrant Clinic and Clark County Hospital for over 25 years. Although she retired she maintained her license with continuing education for several more years. A woman always looking to improve and do; at age 55 she went to Flight School and soloed. She was a past President of the Clark County Woman’s Club. An active member of Central Baptist Church teaching Sunday School and in the choir for over 30 years. Later helped found Heritage Baptist Church. She was a Voting Official at the polls for many years and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. An avid traveler; she toured Europe, the Holy Land and made three medical mission trips to Russia. She had many friends. As her health failed she had special friends that provided tender care: Latoya Brown, Lenora Lovings, Christina Plowman and Kathy Adams. Our sincere thanks to them. Mother’s courage, determination, zeal for life, and faith inspired us. Her passing will be deeply felt by family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 19, 11:00am-1:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 4369 Lexington Rd., Winchester, with Pastor Tim Christopher presiding. Celebration of Life at 1:00pm Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
