Mary Bullock Castle

Mary Bullock Castle, 77, of Winchester, wife of Roy Castle, passed away Friday at her home.

She was born on December 13, 1939, in Pulaski, VA., to the late Jennie and Robert Shanahan. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Real Estate Broker in Winchester for 30 years and retired as an Insurance Agent for Commonwealth Insurance Company.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Andrew (Gail) Bullock and Patrick Bullock, daughters, Ashley (Jake) Castle Barnes and Meredith (Darius) Castle Lepp, grandchildren, Christopher, Jennie and Hannah Bullock of Winchester, London and Kalista Redden and Zack and Haley Barnes of Indiana, Ava and Kadynn Lepp of Richmond and great-granddaughter, Emilia Tibayan of Indiana.

She always had a place in her heart for her sons and grandchildren’s needs ahead of her own. She will be remembered best for her love of family gatherings and most of all for her love of her dog, Cocoa.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5p-7p at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St. A Memorial Mass will be Tuesday at 7pm at the funeral home with Father Frank Brawner presiding. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Johnson, Wayne Johnson and Lou Abner.
