Leaetta Faye Eades Skinner, 76, grew up in Trapp, Kentucky. Born December 25,1948, she died on March 3, 2025. Leaetta cherished life on the farm, tending her chickens and other animals with loving care. She spent many evenings on the front porch with Gene, her husband of 52 years watching the hummingbirds visiting feeders. She loved watching the wildlife on her farm and was continually amazed by God’s creation.
Leaetta was the daughter of loving parents Leonard Jackson Eades and Alberta Stevens Eades McKinney; widow to the late Gene Skinner, her “other wing”; mother to Leonard Skinner (Sybil), Nathaniel Skinner (Josie); grandmother “Bebe” to Kaitlin, Joseph, Jackson and Sterling; sister to Deborah Phillips; aunt to Larry Phillips, Caroline Phillips, Shane Skinner, Donna Schwiegeraht and Kenny Uhlman.
Leaetta worked at the phone company before becoming a full time homemaker where she continually grew large gardens, cared for her animals, and doted over her family.
Leaetta attended Eastside Baptist Church for many years, finding comfort and friendship in the congregation’s fellowship.
Family will receive friends at Scobee Funeral Home on Monday, March 10, 2024, from 10:30AM until time of service at noon. Pastor Joe Price will officiate, and burial will follow in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
