Joe Hardiman, age 85, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Joe was born in Pulaski, Tennessee and moved to Kentucky in 1951. After starting on the factory floor at Leggett and Platt, he retired 48 years later as a divisional engineer and became a world traveler. A U.S. Army veteran and Kentucky Colonel, Joe was a devout Christian who had served as both deacon and elder, but he will be remembered most as a devoted husband and father and as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s favorite Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Marie Hardiman, his brother, Brent Hardiman, and his daughter, Anna Beth Hardiman.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara; two children, Jennifer Shearer (Steve) and Keith Hardiman (Donna); brothers Larry Hardiman (Diane) and Pat Hardiman (Ann); sister Faye Tanner; six grandchildren, Emily Stewart (Shane), Steven Shearer (Emily), Zach Hardiman (Ashley), Sam Shearer (Jordan), Rachel Barrett (Chris) and Elizabeth Hardiman; and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Scobee Funeral Home. Family will receive visitors at Christview Christian Church in Winchester on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 11:00-12:00, with services immediately following. Memorials made in honor of Joe may be made to Christview Christian Church, 3133 Boonesboro Rd., Winchester, KY 40391.
