John “Captain” Wayne Riddle, 80

John “Captain” Wayne Riddle, husband of the late Patricia Raney Riddle, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2nd, 2024 at the age of 80. Born January 11th, 1944, he was the son of the late John and Dora Riddle. Wayne worked in auto-parts for many years before studying at the University of Kentucky to become a paramedic. He worked at Georgetown/Scott Co. E.M.S. where he would later retire after many years of dedicated service.
Wayne was a lifelong musician who loved playing music with his friends and late wife, Pat. He had a passion for guitars in particular and shared his musical knowledge with his family over the years. Wayne also loved spending time participating in car shows, enjoying basketball, attending church, traveling, and dedicating time to his photography. Wayne had an especially soft place in his heart for his pets Allie and Moochie.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Beverly Sue Shepherd, his son Anthony Riddle, and his beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia Raney Riddle. Wayne is survived by stepsons David (Dana) Brookshire, Chuck (Cindy) Brookshire, and his daughter Kim (Larry) Strong; niece, Michelle True, and nephew, John Keith True; grandchildren, Grayson, Hannah, and Ashlan Brookshire; he is also survived by 6 additional grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered fondly by numerous extended family members who were blessed to know him.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest next to his dear wife, Pat. If you would like to act in his memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, an organization both Wayne and Pat supported over the years.
