Emily Allen Swindler, age 56, of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away Sunday December 1, 2024 in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

Emily had been the Principal at Northside Elementary School in Shelbyville for the past 6 years. She had been employed with the Shelby County School System for over 25 years. Emily was a natural born teacher that had a close relationship with all of her students. Being the principal at Northside Elementary reinforced her as an educator and team player whose mission was to get kids started in the right direction. Emily made sure that none of the students fell through the cracks. Emily loved being with her family. She thought that it was like being with a bunch of kids.

Emily was preceded in death by her father, James Allen.

Emily is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jesse Swindler of Shelbyville, Kentucky; her two sons, Tucker and Cooper Swindler of Shelbyville, Kentucky; her mother, Judy Wills Allen and a brother Gary Allen, both of Winchester, Kentucky.

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 14, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Shelbyville with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
