Robert (Bob) Segress, 48, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2024. A lifelong Clark County resident, Bob was born on November 19, 1975 to the late William (Bill) and Mary Jean Sears Segress. Bob never met a stranger. He was beloved by all who knew him. He could make you laugh without trying and never turned down a chance to have a good time. He cherished his friends and family and always took the time to let them know how much he loved them. Bob always kept old friends together and was the one that broke the busyness of everyone’s life with an impromptu phone call or stop by the house.
Bob worked at East Kentucky Power for 28 years. He loved his job and his coworkers who were like brothers to him. He also loved farming and the outdoors and adored all his friends who he spent time with in those endeavors.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years, Melissa (Missy) Segress and his cherished sons, Will and Wyatt Segress. He also leaves behind the “honorary” parents and sisters he adored, Jerrie and O.C. Hamm, Laura Hamm Harris, Amy Hamm Hall, and Leann Hamm Taylor. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Shelli) Segress, his nephews, Ryan (Haleigh) and Kenneth Lee (Lauren) Segress, his brother-in-law, H.P. (Sarah Jones) Hurst III, and his nieces, Valerie and Helaina Hurst. In addition, he leaves behind several great nieces and nephews and all of his beloved friends.
