Sammy “Sambo” Wayne Sorrell, 66, of Winchester, KY, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2024.

Sammy was born to Gladys B. Sorrell on December 26, 1957, in Clark County, where he resided most of his life. Sammy brought joy to those around him wherever he went. He had a big heart and was loved by many. Sammy lived his life with kindness and compassion for those in need. He poured his heart into everything he did, from cooking meals to giving a ride, he was sure to leave you with a smile. Sammy lit up the world around him and now that light shines on us all from Heaven!

Sammy is survived by his sons, Matthew Wayne Sorrell (Jane Early Sorrell) and Michael Sorrell; grandchildren, Brandon Wayne Sorrell, Elizabeth Sorrell, and Alexandria Sorrell; great granddaughter, Kinsley Rayne Sorrell: sister, Barbara Kane (Steve “Honey” Watts); brother, Ernest Sorrell and Ancil Sorrell; nephew, Christopher Dwayne Vance (Kayla Richie); as well as, many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
