Clair Alfred Hunter, 92, widower of Arline Riley Hunter, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born September 28, 1931 to the late Alfred and Catherine Lindhl Hunter in Milaca, Minn. He was a retired Master Gunnery Sgt from the United States Marine Corps, serving 30 years. He served in several locations including Massachusetts, Camp Lejeune, NC, Key West, FL, Hawaii, Turkey, Japan, French Morocco, Republic of South Viet Nam, Puerto Rico, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Korea and the Philippines. He has a lifetime membership in the Marine Corps League and American Legion, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Burger, Wayne Hunter (Patti), Eric Hunter (Candace) and Bruce Hunter (Kris); grandchildren: Elzie Burgher, III, Hillary Truesdell (Tristian), Wayne Hunter II (Annie), Ryan Hunter (Brandi), Riley Hunter, Addison Hunter and Kel Hunter; great-grandchildren: Aubrie Burgher, Elzie Burger IV, Ellie Hunter, Emery Hunter and Jude Rogers. Including his wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Ohrt. His service will be on Monday, May 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 248 S. Main St., Winchester, KY with visitation from 12 noon until the hour of service.
