A Winchester dispatcher recently went beyond the call of duty to help bring a new life into the world.
Sarah Miller of the Winchester Police Department’s 911 Dispatch Center fielded the call from Alan Keefer, who was on his way to Clark Regional Medical Center with his wife, Allison, who was in labor, according to a WPD news release.
The couple’s child decided to make an earlier-than-expected plant Earth debut, and the Keefers were forced to pull over to the side of the Mountain Parkway.
Miller guided Alan through the delivery process, and soon, the Keefers had a healthy baby boy, Cillian.
Both mother and baby are doing well, according to the WPD.
