Ruth Weigant Patton, 88, of Winchester, KY died peacefully at home with her beloved dog, Gracie by her side on March 5, 2024. Ruth was born August 1, 1935 to Frances and John Weigant. She earned her B. S. in Education at Illinois State Normal University, her Master of Education at University of Illinois, and her Doctor of Education at the University of Tennessee. She is survived by her brother-in-law Robert Cowen; nieces Leslie Cowen, Linda Koppleman, Patti Smith, Marjorie Hobbs an Jacqueline Lefever (Jeff); nephews John Cowen, Richard Cowen (Sheila), Harold Turner (Debbie), and Billie Dean. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Volz and Jack Patton; her sisters, Betty Bowen, Marilyn Turner and Eleanor Cook; nieces Doris Metcalf and Barbara Fabin. The family wishes to thank her special caregivers, Debra Gukeisen , Kathy Johnson and Visiting Angels of Richmond, Hospice, her loyal friends and First Christian Church. Her service will be on Monday, March 11 at 12 noon at First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman St.. Winchester, with Dr. Jerry Johns presiding. Visitation will be 11:00 am until the hour of service. In lieu flowers, donations may be sent to First Christian Church.
