The Clark County Public Schools (CCPS) Board of Education welcomed its newest member last week.
Jennifer Simpkins was sworn in as the representative from District 1. She replaces former board chair Bill Taulbee/
Simpkins is a lifelong resident of the Trapp/Ruckerville area. She and her husband, Kevin, have two students enrolled in the CCPS district.
Her reason for applying to join the board was simple.
I applied to be on the board because I have a passion for helping kids,” Simpkins said. “I have been watching all the amazing things going on in the district and want to be a part of it.”
Simpkins will serve as an interim member of the board and is eligible to run for the remainder of the term in this fall’s general election.
