Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Earl Sanford Anderson went home to be with his Lord, January 31, 2024. He was born July 19, 1945 in White Oak, Kentucky to Arthur and Farris Anderson. He graduated from Owingsville High School in 1963 and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Morehead State University. He studied agriculture and worked at the University of Kentucky after graduation. He retired from the Kentucky State Transportation Cabinet in 2003, with 32 years of service with his friends at District 9. He was a deacon at Mt. Carmel Christian church before becoming a faithful member of Living Water Church, serving the Lord on the building team. He was a loving attentive husband of nearly 48 years to Sue Fox Anderson, his best friend. He was an admired father to his daughter Melissa Miller and a proud father-in-law of Dustin Miller. He was an honored Poppy, to Tucker James and Tinley Sue. His best buddy and sidekick was Tucker. They enjoyed planning their garden, talking about cows, riding on the riding machine, rock hunting, going to the stockyard, and minnow fishing. Tinley tried to keep Poppy out of trouble. They enjoyed Fanta, being lefties, secret stash, and sparkle donuts together. Poppy loved seeing his grandkids play ball, watching UK, school pickup, apple picking, and Sunday morning church and breakfast with his family. He “hit it” each morning, as the day was an adventure, with grin that looked as if he was holding a special secret. He enjoyed farming, cattle, gardening, cats, rental property fixing, series watching, mowing, and afternoon naps. He was a fun uncle, a perfectionist, hardworking, wise, humble, dedicated, special, a fine and good man…living a life he loved. He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Eula Belcher, in-laws Otto and Nora Fox, brother-in-laws Zach Fox and Donald Fox, sister-in-laws Betty Spencer and Retta Mae Christman, and many special pets. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Tuesday, February 6 at Living Water Church in Mt. Sterling. Services will be conducted 11 AM, Wednesday, February 7 at the church, with Pastors Grant Cannoy and John Duggins officiating. Burial will be at Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Dustin Miller, Barry Cox, David Begley, Eric Highly, David Ellington and Brenton Fox. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Living Water Church, P.O. Box 538, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 in Memory of Earl Sanford Anderson.
