In Clark County, a man was arrested following an incident believed to have involved a BB gun.
John Davis Goodwin, 32, is charged with 4th-degree domestic assault with minor injury, 1st-degree possession of a controlled substance in the first offense and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
On Sunday, Jan. 21st, Winchester Police were dispatched to a location where an assault had allegedly just occurred, according to the arrest citation.
The caller advised that a male subject had hit her stomach and shot her in the leg with a BB gun.
When officers arrived, the woman stated that – after coming over – a verbal altercation ensued with Goodwin over a pair of gloves.
He then allegedly became angry, pushed, and shot her with a BB gun before leaving the apartment.
Upon examination, officers noted that the alleged victim had a red mark consistent with a BB on the outside of her right calf.
Officers later located Goodwin at an undisclosed location.
He allegedly said they verbally argued but denied matters had gotten physical.
Goodwin also stated that he never fired the BB gun.
Additionally, an officer discovered a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine in Goodwin’s right coat sleeve.
While searching his belongings, the officer located a box locked with a key.
After being told by Goodwin where the keys to open the box were located, and doing so, the officer found multiple small, clear bags, a scale, and a glass cylinder jar containing a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.
As of Wednesday, Jan. 24th, Goodwin is being held at Clark County Detention Center on a $3,000 cash bond.
