James (Jim, Jimmy) R. Wheeler went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2023. Jim was born on Aug 8, 1937 in London, Ky. His family moved soon after his birth to Winchester, Ky. He graduated from Winchester High School in 1955. Attended the University of Kentucky. He served in the military (Army), was a mail carrier in Winchester Ky, worked at Lexington Blue Grass Army Depot and retired as a computer programmer analyst for the Department of the Army (ALMSA) in St Louis, Mo. For the last six months he has resided in St Johns, Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond T Wheeler and Bertha (Coghill) Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol (Sue) Wheeler. His surviving family is his spouse Kathleen (Kathie Reisinger) Wheeler, his son Patrick Wheeler, daughter in law Lindsay and three grandchildren Rylee, Luke and Rachel. He was brother in law, uncle and great uncle to many. He was a neighbor, friend and coworker to many. He was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels and member of the American Legion. He served on the Meal Ministry with his wife at Faith Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Mo. Recently became a member of Faith Community Church in St Johns, Fl. He enjoyed his Shawnee buddies immensely and always made a point to attend every reunion. He enjoyed golf, tennis and being with his family n friends. He will be missed dearly. The Neptune Society will service Jim and he will be laid and be honored at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fl. Pastor Dusty Phillips will preside over his memorial. Any donations in his memory can be gifted to the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels or to Faith Community Church, 3450 County Road 210, St Johns, Florida.
