GRC volleyball ends regular season with most wins in over a decade

The George Rogers Clark Lady Cardinals recently ended the program’s most successful regular season in over a decade.

The Lady Cards (23-5) won back-to-back matches to end their first 20-win campaign since the 2012 season.

GRC defeated Paris in straight sets at home on Tuesday (25-5, 25-16, 25-16). Stats were not available as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Cards defeated Henry Clay in their second-to-last home game 3-2 (26-28, 25-21, 18-25, 25-11, 15-12).

Kelsey McKeehan had 38 assists, 11 digs, four service aces, three kills and two blocks. Mia Pendley had 20 kills, nine digs, two assists and two service aces. Kamryn Toler had 16 digs and an assist. Teigh Yeast had 10 kills, nine digs, five service aces and a block. Ella Lowe chipped in 11 digs, four kills, four blocks and two assists. Jordan Thompson contributed seven kills and six blocks.

The Lady Cards next take to the court during the upcoming 40th District Tournament. GRC went undefeated against district competition during the regular season.

To end the season – according to stats through 27 matches – McKeehan led the Lady Cards in the assist category with 680 of the team’s 886 assists and in service aces with 47 total.

Toler finished as the high woman in digs with 276.

Pendely had a team-high 335 kills on the season.

Jordan Thompson won the race for block ace with 102.
