GRC volleyball’s win streak hits lucky seven

The good times keep on rolling for the George Rogers Clark Lady Cardinals.
GRC sits atop the 10th Region standings with a 13-4 overall record and is on a seven-match winning streak, last losing to Trinity Christian on Aug. 28.
Coach Kainan Hudson’s team added the Montgomery County Lady Indians to its victory column last Thursday in Mount Sterling.GRC defeated its arch-rival three sets to one (25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16).
Senior Kelsey McKeehan had a whooping 40 assists, 19 digs, four blocks, three service aces and two kills. Freshman Mia Pendley had 23 kills, four digs, three blocks and a service ace. Senior Kamryn Toler had 15 digs and five assists. Senior Ella
Lowe had 11 digs, five kills, four blocks, two assists and two service aces. Sophomore Teigh Yeast had 14 kills, four digs and three blocks. Senior Lauren Anderson had 13 digs and three assists.
The Lady Cards will rematch with the Lady Indians on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at GRC Area. The first serve is at 7:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, GRC clashed with visiting Fleming County and won in three straight sets (25-10, 25-10, 25-11).
Yeast led the Lady Cards with 18 kills, along with two digs. Pendley had 12 kills, five assists, two service aces and a dig. Lowe had 12 digs, six kills, three blocks and an assist. McKeehan had 35 assists, ten digs, four service aces and a block.
The Lady Cards will take on District 40 foe Paris on the road Thursday, with the match scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
