GRC volleyball continues winning ways

A week after earning their first victory over Harrison County in nearly ten years, the George Rogers Clark Lady Cardinals (9-4), scored the program’s first victory over the Madison Central Lady Indians in several years.
During last Wednesday’s clash in Richmond, the Lady Cards won three sets to two (25-23, 29-31, 25-21, 23-25, 15-8).
Senior Kelsey McKeehan led GRC with 50 assists and 19 digs, and two service aces.
Sophomore Teigh Yeast had 21 kills, 11 digs and three service aces. Freshman Mia Pendley had 19 kills, 13 digs and a trio of service aces.
A day later, GRC traveled to Paris and defeated Bourbon County in three straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) in a 40th District matchup.
McKeehan had 30 assists, 14 digs and two service aces. Pendley had a team-high 16 kills to go along with six digs. Senior Lauren Anderson contributed 11 digs and a pair of assists to the Lady Cards’ cause.
On Tuesday, the Lady Cards (25-17, 25-8) earned another straight sets victory at Pendelton County.
Junior Gracie Abney notched a team-high four service aces. She also had six kills and three digs. Senior Ella Lowe also had four service aces, five digs, two kills and two assists.
McKeehan led the team in assists (15) and had three digs. Yeast contributed a team-high eight kills and three digs.
The Lady Cards return home for a Thursday matchup with Tates Creek.
