George Rogers Clark has found a new baseball coach.

The school recently announced the hiring of Eddie Brooks in a statement on its website.

Brooks is a former Kentucky Wildcat player and has coached at Bryan Station High School and Fredrick Douglass High School.

He also spent three seasons as the skipper for the at-the-time Lexington Legends.

Brooks takes over for the departed Chris Varney, who led the Cardinals to two promising seasons before departing to coach at Hazard High School over the summer.
