A late afternoon alleged incident on Fulton Road last Wednesday, July 5, resulted in one young Winchester woman standing accused of several charges.
Eighteen-year-old Kameran Snowden has been charged with fourth-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing and third-degree terroristic threatening.
According to the arrest citation, a Winchester police officer responded to a call of a female threatening people with a knife. The officer encountered a woman matching the description of the alleged knife-wielder on Leonard Street.
The woman was identified as Snowden and was initially uncooperative with police and lied about the incident.
After being arrested, Snowden told the officer that she received a text message from an individual whose name was redacted in the citation, challenging her to a fight. Snowden said that she grabbed a kitchen knife and walked over to the individual’s residence.
When the individual came outside, Snowden told police, she threw a rock at them, leaving a visible injury. Snowden then threw the knife into the bushes and started walking away from the scene.
Snowden told police that the fight was over a girl and that she just wanted to scare the other party involved. She also said she wished she had used the knife.
Video obtained by police during the investigation allegedly showed Snowden coming onto the Leonard Street property with the knife, which police also recovered.
Snowden was lodged at the Clark County Detention Center and has since been released on bond.
