George Rogers Clark High School will have a new principal when the 2023-24 school year commences in August.
Clark County Public Schools announced in a social media release Tuesday that GRC Principal Jamie Keene will step down at the end of the year as he has accepted the position of Director of Innovation and Alternative Programs within the district.
“I have truly enjoyed my time at GRC, but I am also very excited about this opportunity to continue helping the students and staff of Clark County Public Schools in a different role,” Keene said. “I am looking forward to working even more closely with our community and helping meet the needs of our staff and students across the entire district.”
A native of Pike County, Keene worked at GRC for the past 13 years, including 11 as assistant principal and two at the top job.
Before coming to Clark County, Keene worked as a teacher, coach and athletic director with Pike County Schools before taking a position in the Kentucky Department of Education. He also worked in the private sector for eight years as the general manager of a chemical company.
