The George Rogers Clark High School Lady Cards picked up a pair of wins over the past week but fell to rival Montgomery County.
Last Thursday, the Lady Cards (7-16) earned an extra-innings win over the host Mason County Lady Royals.
GRC struggled during both games in the Bart Rison Classic in Mt. Sterling last weekend. Woodford County shut them out, 9-0, and Male repeated the goose egg with a 15-0, run-rule victory in four innings.
The Lady Cards returned to the friendly confines of home on Monday and snagged a 6-4 victory over district foe Bourbon County.
Unfortunately, another trip down I-64 brought another shutout loss, this time to the region-leading Montgomery County Lady Indians, 10-0.
Coach Connie Hill’s squad braved Bracken County on Wednesday at home but fell in defeat 10-4. They return to the diamond on May 2 in a rematch with Bourbon County.
