Dancer’s Pointe Studio in Winchester put on a production of The Nutcracker this past holiday season that was received positively by the community.

With fanfare and a passion for dance, it only makes sense to be back in action.

From Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25, the studio will perform a ballet production of “From Fairytale to Fairytale” at Grace Baptist Church on Lexington Road.

Production times are 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday’s event is sold out, though plenty of spots are available at other times.

“It’s about a shy princess and her nanny who find a hidden book in the forest, and when they open it, they’re taken on a journey from fairytale to fairytale,” said Danielle Bridgewater, owner of Dancer’s Pointe. “They’re guided by [a] fairy godmother, so they journey through the different kingdoms.”

Characters from classic fairy tales present in the performance include The Frog Princess, Cinderella, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood.

Dancer’s Pointe seeks to put on a spring ballet performance for students to experience every other season.

The production of “From Fairytale to Fairytale” isn’t particularly new.

The studio produced a performance of the ballet once before in 2016.

Finding an ideal cast, as might be expected, took time.

Auditions took place in January, with performers between the ages of three to eighteen years old participating.

Eventually, 65 performers were chosen and cast into different roles.

Since then, practices have routinely taken place over the weekend.

The process has reaped benefits for the cast members.

“There are so many aspects that can be rewarding in unique ways to each individual [that] it’s hard to speak to all of them,” Bridgewater said. “There are lots of growth opportunities when you choose to be brave enough to audition for something that you’re passionate about. From that choice of courage and bravery, you’ll [have] such great reward across the board.”

Grace Baptist Church offers a unique opportunity for individuals who want to attend.

While utilizing proscenium seating, which is traditional, banquet and ballet seating has been offered for the first time.

In this arrangement, viewers can bring a self-catered meal and enjoy dinner while taking in the performance.

“We’re very excited to have a new way to experience the arts,” Bridgewater said.

Though Saturday’s performance featuring banquet and ballet seating is sold out, such a result is evidence of its success.

As the group prepares to take the stage, they’ll look toward an experience that will attract an audience.

However, watching the students perform has been beneficial for adults too.

“For me, the most rewarding thing is getting to work with students in our community. I feel really privileged to do so,” Bridgewater said. “Seeing the students grow through working on a production is always a huge blessing.”
