was born was Dec. 22, 1950, in Winchester, KY, the son of John Henry Anderson and Irene (Wiler) Anderson, and passed away at the home of his daughter in Columbus, IN on the morning of Monday, Feb. 19, 2023, at the age of 72, following a brief battle with cancer.
Shirley was a baptized believer of the Christian faith and a lifelong resident of Winchester. He proudly partnered with his brother, Kenneth, at Anderson Brothers Farms.
On Oct. 12, 1982, he married Vivian (Trent) Anderson. Their marriage lasted 37 years until Vivian’s passing on September 26, 2020.
Shirley loved the land and working with his crops and livestock on the farm, but his greatest love was his family.
Surviving are his daughters: Ashley (Nathan) Garrison and Rachael (Ryan) Hyslop, all of Columbus, IN; his son, Thomas (Hope) DeVary of Newark, OH; seven grandchildren: Emily, Charlotte and Madeline Garrison, Reid and Ryder Hyslop, all of Columbus, IN; Wesley and Lance DeVary of Newark, OH; and one great-grandson, Thomas DeVary III of Newark.
He is also survived by his mother, Irene (Wiler) Anderson and his brother, Kenneth (Kim), and one niece, Samantha Anderson, all of Winchester.
Visitation will take place at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main St. in Lexington, KY from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.
