‘Meet the Cards’ exhibition showcases season’s hoops skills

George Rogers Clark Cardinals’ basketball skills were on full display Wednesday night during a “Meet the Cards” hoops exhibition at Cardinal Arena.
Cards were introduced to much fanfare before boys’ and girls’ freshman, junior varsity and varsity squads showed their aim with 3-point shootouts and scrimmages between teams that indicate these talented players are ready to play some ball.
GRC Pep Band wowed the crowd with their sounds as did the cheerleaders with their passion to pump up the fans and players.
Varsity boys’ season opens Dec. 2 when the Cards travel to Campbell County High School’s Camels for some hoops action.
Varsity girls’ season opens Nov. 30 at home against Russell High School’s Red Devils.
